Pair of Fort Wayne attorneys seek Appeals Court seat

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne attorneys are on the short list to fill a vacancy on the Indiana Court of Appeals.

A dozen attorneys and judges are vying for Judge Michael Barnes’ seat. He’ll be retiring this summer. Among those on the list are Attorneys David Van Gilder and Andrew Teel, according to the News-Sentinel.

Van Gilder’s practice covers personal injury, zoning and administrative, and worker’s compensation law, among other specialties. Teel’s work includes criminal defense and appeals, civil litigation, and he’s also licensed to handle federal cases.

The applications will be reviewed by the state’s Judicial Nominating Commission next week.
