INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – One of Mike Pence’s older brothers is being named as a possible candidate for the eastern Indiana congressional seat that the vice president and former Indiana governor once held.

The Indianapolis Star reports  influential Indiana Republicans are urging Greg Pence to run.

Pence confirmed he’s being courted and didn’t rule the idea out. He would almost certainly have powerful party support members if he chooses to run for the seat, which includes Muncie and Columbus.

Major Republican fundraiser Bob Grand tells The Associated Press it’s premature to talk of Greg Pence running for the seat currently held by Republican Rep. Luke Messer. But if Messer launches an anticipated Senate bid, Grand says Greg Pence would be a logical candidate to replace him.
