FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne has received a Francine’s Friends Mobile Mammography Coach.

The coach has served thousands of women for 13 years before it was retired by the Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute.

The 40-foot coach will be repurposed into a mobile exploration lab for career events at middle schools and high schools in 11 Indiana counties. During the events, students may be exposed to agriculture, robotics, welding simulation and machine tool technology.

Funding from the Parkview Health Foundation allowed for a new bus for the PFCI, which began touring in December. Ivy Tech says they plan to have the donated coach up and running by fall of this year.
