PFW Unveiled A New Display Of Mammoth Proportions On Tuesday

After eight years of being stored in the basement of Walb Student Union, this 13,000-year-old mastodon skeleton is once again on display at Purdue University Fort Wayne for all to see.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) —  Donna the mastodon skeleton has found its permanent home at the Walb Student Union.

As reported by our newsgathering partners at 21ALIVE, the bones were first discovered in 1968 on a farm in Angola.

Shortly thereafter, the student body adopted the mastodon as the university’s mascot.
