DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) — Terry Sands was arrested following a high-speed chase on I-69 in DeKalb County in March of 2023.

He was charged with murder for allegedly running over Master Trooper James Bailey deliberately as Bailey attempted to place stop sticks in the road.

21-Alive reports that Sands is accepting a plea deal in the case that will see the murder charge dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea to charges of Aggravated Battery and Resisting Law Enforcement.

It’s not a done deal just yet – the judge in the case still has to review and sign off on the plea agreement.
