Police Host Drug Take Back Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): If you aren't careful your medicine cabinet could be a very dangerous place and the Indiana State Police wants to make it safer.

Saturday from 10 to 2 they are hosting a drug take back day at posts around the state, including locally on Ellison Road in Southwest Allen County.

If you have expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs, bring them to the post. Last fall more than 14 hundred pounds of drugs were collected at sites around the state.

A number of other law enforcement agencies are hosting similar events.

In addition to creating a healthy, environimentally safe way to dispose of medicines, getting them out of the medicine cabinet reduces the risk of misuse and abuse. You can find out more by clicking here.
