Police ID Officer who Shot Armed Robbery Suspect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Police have identified the three officers involved in a police shooting earlier this week that left a robbery suspect in the hospital.

Officers Bradley Griffin, Daniel Hartman, and Jason Palm responded to the Dollar General on East State Street Sunday night where Anthony Gant and Christopher Johnson had allegedly tied up an employee and customer after demanding cash and cigarettes. Gant, who police say was armed with a handgun, was shot by Hartman. He's in critical condition. All three officers are on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues.

Police spokesman Michael Joyner tells WOWO news it's too early to say if this incident was connected to recent robberies of other Dollar General and Family Dollar locations.
