Police: Indiana Man Failed to Report Woman’s Death

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – Southwestern Indiana police say an Evansville man lived with a woman's body for nearly a week before his father found the corpse in a home's living room.

Thirty-nine-year-old Larry W. Harms Jr. was charged Wednesday with failure to report a dead body, maintaining a common nuisance and two drug counts.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports Harms' father went to a home Dec. 4 where his son was living with the woman, Samantha Dennis, concerned that she was missing.

Court documents say Harms then showed his father Dennis' dead body in the home's living room.

Police say Harms told officers Dennis died Nov. 28 after collapsing. He told investigators she had been sick and took methamphetamine and acid the day she died.

Toxicology tests on Dennis' body are pending.
