Police: Man shoots 6-year-old son in South Bend…

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ Police in South Bend say they're searching for a man who shot his 6-year-old son in the leg.

Police say the boy was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after he was wounded late Thursday at a home on the city's west side.

Capt. Phil Trent says witnesses told officers that the boy's father had been invited to the home and got into an argument with another man. Trent says the shot that hit the boy was fired during the argument.

The 29-year-old man then fled the scene on a bicycle.
