Police Officers in Trouble for Stealing Gear

Two former police officers have been arrested for stealing. The state police say they began an investigation into former officers Michael Reneau and Sean Kahkola of Garret and Auburn police departments, because gear was coming up missing. The two were in charge of screening military surplus items for possible use by Garret and Auburn police department, but instead of doing that, they allegedly took the items and turned around and sold them, then pocketed the cash. They are both being held in the Dekalb County jail.
