Police respond to reports of “shots fired” at Glenbrook Mall, find no evidence

(WOWO News)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Police were called to Glenbrook Square Mall Wednesday afternoon on reports of “shots fired.”

Our partners in news at ABC 21 report police responded to the call around 1:30 p.m., and upon arrival, found several people fleeing the mall.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots near the food court, but police did not find any shell casings or victims inside.

One witness reported the area was under construction, and believes a ladder may have fallen, causing the sound which was mistaken for a gun being fired.

Police report a group of 4-5 people were fighting in the food court.

Area schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

We’ll provide more details as they become available.
