Police Seize Liquor Still Man Tried to Sell Online

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Police say a southern Indiana man faces criminal charges after trying to sell an illegal liquor still through an online site.

State excise police say officers arrested a 40-year-old man from the Jennings County community of Scipio after meeting with him Wednesday to complete the sale at a location near Indianapolis International Airport.

Excise police Cpl. Brandon Thomas says the man posted an online advertisement in which he described the still as the perfect gift for the family drunk. Officers responded to the ad and arranged the meeting.

Thomas says the still was seized and the man was given a court summons to appear on a misdemeanor charge of possessing unlicensed alcohol production equipment.
