Premo Brand turkey and cheese wedge sandwiches recalled, may contain Listeria

NATIONWIDE, (WOWO) – If you recently purchased a pre-packaged sandwich, you may have a recall.

Lipari Foods, LLC has issued a voluntary recall of Premo Brand Turkey & Cheese wedge sandwiches produced and packaged by JLM due to potential Listeria contamination.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

The recalled sandwiches were produced on August 8, 2018 and distributed to retail grocery stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

No illnesses have yet been reported related to this recall, but consumers who have purchased the product should discard it or return it to the point of purchase immediately.
