Prison Time for Fort Wayne Ex-Girlfriend Beater

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): A New Haven man gets 8 years in prison for beating an ex-girlfriend.

42 year old Michael Ladig was sentenced yesterday, but before he was, he asked for leniency because he has dealt with drug and alcohol addiction and anger issues.

According to the Journal-Gazette, Allen Superior Judge John Surbeck said Ladig had an extensive criminal history and has had many chances to shape up.

Ladig pleaded to one count of battery causing serious bodily injury and his other eight charges, including criminal confinement and rape, were dismissed.

Ladig attacked his ex-girlfriend twice last May.
