Prisoners Injured in Rollover Crash

ANDERSON, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County prisoners being transported by the sheriff's department were injured in an crash this morning near Anderson.

The prisoners were in a sheriff's van that overturned on Interstate 69 around 7 a.m. this morning. According to the Journal-Gazette, five prisoners were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

There is no word on the extent of their injuries or if any sheriff's department personnel were injured. Authorities say freezing rain sparked several accidents in that area.

It's still unclear on where the prisoners were being taken.
