ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Independence Day holiday weekend is expected to be one of the busiest on Indiana highways and interstates EVER, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Hoosiers are being encouraged to travel safely and plan for more driving time during the busy holiday weekend.
INDOT has announced a road work moratorium for the Independence Day weekend beginning Friday afternoon, June 30 until the morning hours of Wednesday, July 5. Wherever possible, road restrictions will be removed to ease traffic flow and INDOT is also directing contractors to pull back barriers and barricades where possible. Here’s where you will see restrictions remaining over the holiday:
