Resident: Plane in house ‘worst experience ever’

COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) _ A Japanese immigrant says she feels fortunate to have escaped injury after a plane crashed into her home while she was doing laundry.

Hiroko Nakao says she heard a big sound Thursday morning and fled the rental house where she's lived for four years. She didn't realize a plane had crashed into it and destroyed her sunroom until she called her husband from a neighbor's house.

The house was badly damaged by a fire that erupted after the crash.

Two men on board the plane were taken to an Indianapolis hospital with injuries. Nakao says one had severe burns on his back.

She calls the incident her “worst experience ever.'' She and her husband plan to stay with friends or in a hotel.
