Senator Banks Called up to Military Service

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): An Indiana state senator is being called up to military service during the final days of this year's legislative session.
 
       Senate President Pro Tem David Long says Republican Sen. Jim Banks of Columbia City is scheduled for naval duty starting the last week of the session.
 
       Banks serves in the Navy Reserve as a supply corps officer. Long says the Senate is proud of Banks' service and that Banks has taken steps to ensure his legislative priorities are handled during the final week.
 
       The General Assembly's session is scheduled to end March 14.
