Several Delaware County SWAT members quit

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Delaware County officials are shorthanded now after several members of the County’s SWAT team suddenly quit.

According to WISH-TV in Indianapolis, the move comes on the heels of another member being fired by the County Sheriff’s Office.

Chris Greene, who is also a Yorktown Police patrolman, claims he was fired on fraudulent property damage claims, but feels it’s really related to his support for Sheriff Ray Dudley’s political opponent, Tony Skinner.

Once word about his firing got out, five SWAT members quit in response, saying the team was already under-resourced and that explanations about Greene’s case from superiors didn’t make sense.

The Sheriff’s Office is standing by its decision and explanation.
