Slain Indianapolis store clerk on the job 2 days…

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The wife of an Indianapolis convenience store clerk fatally shot during a robbery says it was just his second day on the job.

Police say 39-year-old Elvalide Ndiaye died at a hospital after the shooting early Wednesday. Another employee who was in the store wasn't hurt.

Ndiaye's wife, Tanya Ndiaye, tells WRTV-TV it was only her husband's second day on the job and that they moved back to Indianapolis two months ago. She says she'll try to raise enough money to ship his body back to his native Senegal for burial.

The shooting happened about 3 a.m. near the intersection of 38th Street and Interstate 465 on the city's west side.

Police say three suspects were captured later following another robbery on the city's north side.
