ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana Department of Transportation announces rolling slowdowns of traffic on southbound I-69 near mile 304. 

The slowdowns are to accommodate the placement of bridge beams on the Covington Road Bridge over I-69 at this location.  Later in the week, northbound I-69 will experience rolling slowdowns in this area, as well.  

Work is expected to take place over the southbound lanes up to, and possibly including, Tuesday night, June 18, weather permitting.

Beginning Tuesday night, June 18, or Wednesday night, June 19, work on the bridge will shift to take place over the northbound I-69 lanes.  At this time, the rolling slowdowns will occur for northbound I-69 traffic. 

The bridge beam placement work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. on Friday morning, June 21, weather permitting.
