HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO) – One woman was sent to the hospital after a stabbing in Huntington Thursday.

Huntington Police were dispatched to Park Loft Apartments on E. Park Drive around 5:36 p.m. after reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a 30-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound. She was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police found the suspect, Joseph Abner, around 9:12 p.m. the same day in the 200 block of S. Jefferson St. He was taken into custody and transported to the Huntington Police Annex to speak with investigators.

Abner was later booked in the Huntington County Jail and faces one charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony).

The incident is still under investigation.
