Stallion found running wild needs home

GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) — A southeastern Indiana horse rescue ranch says a stallion found running wild needs donations to pay for gelding before being adopted.

The horse was found in a field this week in southeastern Shelby County and has a temporary home at the Triple R Equine Rescue Ranch outside Greensburg.

The horse has been named Gilligan because it’s believed to be a “castaway” turned loose by its former owner.

Ranch founder Deb Richards says that Gilligan must be gelded before being adopted. She says the ranch so far has raised about half of the $500 to $600 needed for the surgery.

Donations are being accepted through the ranch’s website,http://www.triplerequinerescueinc.com .
