State Trooper injured in Grant County crash Wednesday

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – An Indiana State Trooper was injured after a crash in Grant County Wednesday morning.

The trooper, Jeremy Perez of Marion, was driving a 2018 marked police Dodge Charger southbound on Grant County Road 600 East at 100 North when he struck an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado attempting to turn into the northbound lanes.

An investigation revealed the truck stopped for a stop sign at the intersection before proceeding on, right into Perez’s path.

Perez was on-duty at the time of the crash, and was transported by ambulance to a Fort Wayne hospital with complaint of leg and back pain.

The driver of the truck was transported to Marion General Hospital with a cut on his arm.

Both have been treated and released.
