Study Documents Child Poverty in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Poverty continues to be among the biggest challenges faced by children in Indiana.

In fact, according to the latest Annie E. Casey Foundation's Kids Count 2015 data book, child poverty increased 4 percent from 2008 to 2013.

Overall, Indiana ranked 32nd in the country for overall child well-being, down five spots from last year.

The Indiana Youth institute says the state's lower ranking is due to greater improvements in five other states, rather than to a slide in Indiana.

The report measures the well-being of children in the U.S. in four categories; education, economics, health and family and community.
