Stutzman Attends March for Life

Washington, D.C. (WOWO): Thursday afternoon, U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman attended the March for Life and stood with thousands of marchers on the 42nd anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Upon returning to the House floor, Congressman Stutzman supported H.R. 7 – No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, sponsored by Congressman Chris Smith. The bill passed 242-179.

It was a tremendous honor to stand with several of my colleagues and the thousands of marchers who descended on Washington this morning to honor the millions of innocent unborn children who were never given a chance to live their lives. I was particularly touched by the number of young Americans who attended today’s rally to voice their belief that every life is a gift. The March for Life is a gathering that promotes human dignity and freedom for all people and I was very proud to attend.”

On the House floor I supported a bill that would prohibit taxpayer dollars from funding abortions. Hardworking American wage earners should not have money taken from their paycheck and used to finance the termination of innocent life, ever. President Obama openly declared that federal funds would not be used this way when he campaigned for the passage of his health care overhaul. Sadly, this turned out to be one more of the many broken promises from this president.”

As a proud pro-life member of Congress I will always support legislation that protects the unborn, and I will continue to stand and provide a voice for those who do not have one. I look forward to the day when America becomes a place where all people are protected by law and welcomed to life.”
