Suspect to Stand Trial in August in Tobacco Store Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The man accused of shooting a local tobacco store owner will stand trial in August.

During a pre-trial hearing Thursday, the case of 22-year-old Jamel Coleman was scheduled for August 19 in Allen Superior Court.

Coleman is charged with murder, felony murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.Judge John Surbeck will preside.

According to court documents, Coleman bound 44-year-old Antonio Lopez Nino in duct tape and shot him at the Smoke House on South Lafayette.

 

The trial is expected to last three days.
