INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Sen. Ted Cruz vowed to aggressively campaign across Indiana in the coming weeks, saying all eyes will be on the state ahead of the coming May 3 primary.
The Republican presidential candidate made the comment Thursday during a speech at the state GOP’s annual spring dinner. He says the people of Indiana want to get behind an optimistic conservative campaign.
Cruz’s swing through the state follows a Wednesday rally held by businessman Donald Trump, which drew several thousand people.
Indiana offers 57 Republican party delegates and could play a crucial role as Trump seeks to attain enough delegates to avoid a contested national convention.
Cruz told the audience that the eyes of the entire county “are on the state of Indiana.”
