Teenager Dies Following Collision in Southern Indiana

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP): Police in southern Indiana say a 19-year-old woman who was injured when she lost control of her car and collided with a van has died.

Floyd County police issued a news release Sunday saying Havannah Balentine of Pekin had died at University of Louisville Hospital. Police say she was injured in a crash about 10 a.m. Friday when the car she was driving swerved into the oncoming lane after crossing a set of railroad tracks and she overcorrected twice and struck the van.

Police say four people in the van sustained non-life threatening injuries. Police say they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
