Terre Haute Man Injured In ORV Accident

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WOWO) — Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off-road vehicle accident that injured a Terre Haute man Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called at 1:49 p.m. to the area near the 10200 block of South Hutchinson Street after receiving a report of an ORV crash.

Investigators say 19-year-old Mark Priehs was operating an off-road vehicle on the roadway when it entered a ditch, causing the vehicle to roll on top of him. A nearby Good Samaritan helped remove the ORV from Priehs before emergency responders arrived.

Priehs was airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was reported to be in stable condition with a back injury.

Officials said Priehs was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The incident remains under investigation.
