Three Allen County Communities Won’t Have Elections in November

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The deadline to register to vote is coming up, but if you live in one of these three communities, there's no rush to register.

New Haven, Monroeville, and Leo-Cedarville will not be conducting elections on November 3rd. That's because there was not a single contested race in those locales. Our partners in news at 21Alive report New Haven couldn't come up with a Democrat to run for mayor, city clerk, or any city council seat.

As a cost-saving measure, the county election board agreed to all three city's requests to not have elections. Savings will range to a few thousand dollars in Leo-Cedarville and Monroeville to upwards of $10,000 for New Haven.

The deadline to register to vote in this November's election is this coming Monday.
