Traffic Stop Yields 1 Kilo of Heroin


                                        


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A traffic stop Thursday night, led police to the discovery of one kilo of heroin.

Around 6:20 p.m, Thursday, an Allen County Police Officer stopped a vehicle on Covington Road for a traffic violation. When the Officer took the drivers information he learned that the driver, 32-year-old Miguel Verduzco-Velazouez had a suspended license. As the officer was getting out of his squad car, the driver got out of his vehicle and took off running. Officers chased Verduzco-Velazouez through Greenwood Cemetery where they apprehended him a short time later.

During a search of Verduzco-Velazouez's vehicle police found a little over one kilo of heroin with an estimated street value of over 70 thousand dollars.

Verduzco-Velazouez is being held with no bond in the Allen County Jail on numerous charges.
