Train hits Semi near Monroeville

MONROEVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): Traffic was disrupted this morning after a train hit a semi near Monroeville.

Allen County Dispatch tells WOWO news the crash happened at about 5:10am on Morgan Road south of Flatrock Road, when a semi’s trailer was hit while crossing the railroad tracks on Morgan.

Police on the scene of the accident say the driver of the semi told them there were no flashing lights at the crossing when the truck was hit.

Nobody was hurt, and the crash is under investigation.

It doesn’t matter if the crossing has lights and gates protecting it, in a situation where there are cross bucks only you should stop, look, and listen. The driver of the truck clearly wasn’t paying attention.
