Truck possibly used by escaped Indiana inmates found in Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio (AP): Police say they’ve found a stolen truck in Ohio that may have been used by two inmates who escaped from a county jail in Indiana by squeezing through a hole they apparently made in the jail’s exterior wall.

Inmates Chadwick Heath and Michael Roberts disappeared Friday night from the Fayette County Jail in Connersville, Indiana, located about 50 miles east of Indianapolis. Staff discovered they were gone early Saturday.

Staff found a two-foot-wide hole in both the interior and exterior walls in their cell. Surveillance footage shows the men escaping through the hole.

Police in Dayton, Ohio found a pickup truck late Sunday with the keys still inside. Authorities say the truck was reported stolen Sunday morning by Roberts’ previous employer.
