FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): As more people are taking to the skies, they are also bringing their guns with them.
  
And there's nothing illegal about it. TSA officials say its just important to understand and abide by safety restrictions.
In a Tuesday visit to Fort Wayne International Airport, TSA spokesman Mark Howell reminded the public of those guidelines.

He says guns must be unloaded with ammo securely stored in a padded, locked container. That container must be declared at check in.

Howell says the majority of incidents are from people not knowing the rules or simply being forgetful.
