Two Hurt When Lift Topples Near W. Lafayette

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Officials say two workers were hurt when a construction lift toppled over at a residential building site near West Lafayette.

Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Lt. John Ricks says the men were in the lift driven by a third crew member when it apparently slid on loose dirt on a hillside Wednesday.

Battle Creek Fire Department assistant chief Joe Wade tells the Journal & Courier one man had a broken arm and that the other man's injuries were more serious but not life-threatening. Both men were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Ricks says the accident happened as crew members were repositioning the lift at the site just north of West Lafayette.
