FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A couple of people were badly hurt after a dramatic exchange of gunfire last night on Fort Wayne’s south side.

According to a release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, officers were called to the 4700 block of Bowser Street a little before 11 p.m. on a report of shots being fired, and found a black car that had crashed into a parked vehicle on Oliver street, with a person inside suffering from gunshot wounds and in critical condition.

Witnesses say the person in that vehicle was seen exchanging gunfire with the occupants of a black Jeep, which was later found nearby unoccupied.

A short time later, however, a man walked into a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. He’s in serious condition, and police believe he was involved in the shooting on Bowser Street.

The investigation is ongoing.
