Two Men Charged with Throwing Water Balloons at Police

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indianapolis police say two men who dropped water balloons from the sixth floor of a parking garage at a group of men below were arrested after their targets turned out to be undercover police officers.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the officers were riding bicycles when they spotted where the balloons were thrown from. Police say they found a water balloon tank and balloons hidden under an SUV on the third floor of the garage.

Police say a 30-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were taken into custody about 1:30 a.m. Monday and charged with criminal recklessness.

Police say water balloons thrown from that height hit with the force of a one-pound object. None of the officers were injured.
