Uber Launches in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): You can now hail an Uber in Fort Wayne.

The popular ridesharing service officially made its debut in Fort Wayne at 4 PM Thursday. It allows those with the Uber app on their phone to request a ride from an Uber driver.

According to our partners in news at 21Alive, Uber officials said they are launching in Fort Wayne after House Bill 1278 was signed by Governor Mike Pence. The bill outlines requirements drivers need to have, including insurance and background checks.

You can get three free Uber rides to use through May 14th by using the code FWNWIFREE in the app.
