FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One person is in critical condition after a shooting near Chapel Oaks Apartments in Fort Wayne.

Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department are investigating the shooting that took place on Buchanan Street around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Once they arrived, police found the victim sitting inside a stolen vehicle. He was suffering from gunshot wounds, and the car was located in the parking lot of the complex.

Police say there was some sort of altercation that led up to the shooting, and the suspect fled on foot.

No word on any suspects or a motive.
