UPDATE: Police Look for Suspect in Friday Morning Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are looking for the suspect in a Friday morning shooting that has one person in serious condition.

Around 2:45 a.m. on Friday, police were dispatched to a church parking lot at the corner of Hessen Cassel and Tilman Road on reports of a man who had been shot in the knee.

When they arrived, the man told police he was with another person at the time he was shot. Two two were walking from Turtle Creek Apartments and on their way to Villa Capre Apartments.

The shooter apparently had intentions to shoot someone else this morning. However, while the men were walking, the shooter decided to point the gun at the victim's head. He then proceeded to shoot the gun at the victim's leg.

The victim ran onto a side street until he reached Tillman Road and called police. His identity has not yet been released and he is recovering in the hospital in serious condition.

According to a press release, the shooter was using some kind of “gang lingo” at the time of the shooting.

This is the 5th shooting in Fort Wayne in the last 5 days.
