Van Wert Regional Airport Gets Funds For Improvements

VAN WERT, Ohio. (WOWO): The Van Wert County Airport is getting some improvements.

Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown has announced that Van Wert County Airport is getting almost $110,000 in grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

It's going towards the design phase of a south general aviation apron that will be used for aircraft parking. It also will be used for designs for a taxiway to connect the apron to the airfield.

Brown said in a statement that these funds are great news for the region and will go a long way to helping residents and businesses in the area get in and out of the airport.
