FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  A Van Wert woman has admitted to killing her mother.

48-year-old Tamara Menke of Ohio City, Ohio pled guilty to murder and felonious assault in Van Wert County Court.  According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, Menke admitted to shooting her mother.  Investigators say she shot her mother to death and shot and wounded her father on November 14th, 2013. 

Menke's attorneys reportedly wanted to enter a not guilty by reason of insanity plea, but mental health experts deemed her competent and she accepted a plea deal.

Menke is scheduled to be sentenced May 16th.
