Vera Bradley Blames Lower Profit on Write-Down, Recall

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne-based Vera Bradley Inc. is seeing a decrease in profit. The company is reporting a fourth quarter net income of $19.4 million this year, compared to $25.1 million for the same period last year. Vera Bradley is partially blaming the lower profit on a write-down involving fabric patterns they say are “no longer considered sustainable.” The company has also announced a recall of some stuffed toys.
