Vets Offered Free Golf

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you are a veteran or in the military, city-owned golf courses have an offer for you – Free Golf!

Foster, Shoaff and McMillen Golf courses are extending free greens fees.  You'll need to show your military ID card. Officials are encouraging to reserve your tee-time, up to a week in advance.

The first veterans golf day is May 8.  The offer continues on July 10, September 11 and November 11.

“This is a tremendous way to recognize and thank our veterans and active military personnel as they sacrifice so much for us to enjoy our freedom,” said Mayor Tom Henry.

“Thank you to the Parks and Recreation Department for developing this unique effort to celebrate the true heroes in our community.”
