Vigil Honors Northern Indiana Teen Found Dead

PLYMOUTH, Ind. (AP): More than 200 people gathered for a vigil honoring a 15-year-old northern Indiana girl whose partial burned body was found in a wooded area last week.

An autopsy performed Monday found blunt force trauma was the primary cause of death for Desirae Jones of Bremen. The South Bend Tribune reports the Marshall County coroner didn't immediately say whether the death was a homicide.

Police say a man walking his dog Friday morning discovered her body near the town about 20 miles south of South Bend.

Speakers recalled the Bremen High School freshman during Monday night's vigil at Bremen Church of God.

Russell Young owns the property next to where Jones' body was found. Young tells WSBT-TV it is a popular meeting place for teenagers to park their cars and drink.
