Vincennes University Enrollment hits All-time High

VINCENNES, Ind. (AP)  Vincennes University officials are announcing enrollment at the two-year institution has reached an all-time high.

Kristi Deetz, senior director of external relations, says the junior college is now educating just over 19,200 students, about 1,000 more than last year. And the amount of full-time students has grown by a few hundred to around 10,530 students system-wide.

Deetz says the programs that attract non-traditional students, such as the Early College, dual-credit and military programs, are responsible for driving the school's enrollment growth.

VU President Dick Helton says the school has gone the extra mile over the last few years to develop programs geared toward high school students and military members.

The Vincennes Sun-Commercial (http://bit.ly/1wxRbQm ) reports Deetz told the board of trustees that accepted applications for fall 2015 are up by 13 percent.
