Warsaw man charged with attacking wife with axe

WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): A Warsaw man has been arrested for attacking his wife with an axe.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says they and the Warsaw Police Department were called to a home on West Old Road 30 at about 6:16pm Monday after an argument between the couple turned violent.

When police arrived they found the woman with “visible extensive head injuries”.

37-year-old Joseph Waithira has minor injuries and was taken into custody on a battery charge while his wife, 33-year-old Sandy Waithira, was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital. She was last listed in serious condition.
