Witness Fails to Appear in Fort Wayne Murder Trial

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man is being held in Allen County Jail for failing to show up to the murder trial of Sanchez “Chaz” Williams late last month.

Williams was convicted of felony murder after killing 21-year-old Moath Nassir outside Big Al's Convenience Store on McKinnie Avenue. He was also convicted of robbery using a firearm the same night he murdered Nassir on the sidewalk next to the store.

According to the Journal Gazette, Williams talked about the crime to 34-year-old Patrick Manuel a few days after Nassir's death. The Allen Superior Court Judge issued a warrant for Manuel's arrest when he failed to appear June 24th in the case against WIlliams.

On Tuesday, Manuel was accused of contempt of court. While in police custody, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail on contempt charges.
