Woman, 41, Fatally Shot In South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) _ South Bend police are searching for a person of interest in the shooting death of 41-year-old woman.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at a home Monday night. When they arrived on the scene, officers found Tanya Jones suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The South Bend Tribune (http://bit.ly/1AUuk2m ) reports police confirmed Jones later died from her injuries.

Capt. Phil Trent says the shooting didn't appear to be random. He says police are actively searching for a person of interest in the case. An investigation is being led by the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit.

Three homicide investigations have been launched into four deaths so far this year in South Bend.
